Privacy Policy

We collect the following information when you use Steadypaws:

• Account information: your email address when you create an account. This is used solely to identify your account and sync your data across devices.
• Training data: your dog's profile (name, breed, anxiety level, training history) and session history (duration, date, rating, notes). This data is stored on our servers so it syncs when you sign in.
• Purchase information: if you subscribe to Steadypaws Pro, payments are processed by Stripe. We store only your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference. We never see or store your card details.
• Notification preferences: whether you have opted in to notifications and your preferred reminder time. No advertising identifiers are associated with notifications.

Steadypaws does not collect:

• Location data
• Camera or microphone data
• Contacts or calendar data
• Health or fitness data
• Browsing history or cross-app tracking data
• Any advertising identifiers

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Provide and sync the core training features of the app
• Send you local training reminders (if you opt in)
• Process and verify your Pro subscription status
• Enable household sharing with people you explicitly invite
• Understand how the app is used, so we can improve it (see PostHog in section 4)

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in section 4.

Steadypaws uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase: for account authentication and data storage. Your training data and account information is stored in Supabase's cloud database. Supabase is GDPR compliant. See supabase.com/privacy.
• Stripe: for payment processing if you subscribe to Pro. Stripe handles your card details and billing; we never receive them. See stripe.com/privacy.
• PostHog: product analytics, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt). We record a small set of events, such as "page viewed", "signed up" or "session saved", with basic details like the page and how long it took to load, to see which parts of Steadypaws help. No session recordings, no autocapture of what you type or click, no advertising identifiers.
  
  Until you choose "Allow", nothing is stored on your device and events can't be linked to you or to each other beyond a single visit. If you allow analytics, PostHog stores a random ID in your browser's local storage so visits can be linked, and once you're signed in, events are linked to your account ID (never your email). You can change your choice any time from "Analytics choices" in the footer or Profile → Privacy; turning it off deletes the stored ID. See posthog.com/privacy.
• Vercel: hosts this website and our application servers. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Your training data is stored in the EU (Supabase, hosted in Ireland).

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account yourself at any time from the Profile screen in the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and removes your account, dog profiles, and all session history from our servers.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Export your training data (via the Export feature in the app)

Steadypaws is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
